Next steps caring for our relatives

Due to a lack of oversight and procedure the historic burial site along Highway 23 was destroyed, disturbing our relatives during a highway renovation. This heartbreaking and very emotional moment in our community was an opportunity for us to do better and make sure this never happens again. The disturbed cemetery along Highway 23 in Northern Minnesota continues to be restored and preserved led by the work of the Fond du Lac Band. Landscape architects Urban Ecosystems worked with Heart Berry to create a stone marker for the retaining wall marking permanently this site and preventing further disturbance of our relatives.  Ojibwe people, like Indigenous People across the world, have extensive knowledge of the skies, stars, and use this knowledge...

We have an opportunity every day to use our art, our words, and our actions to share authentic narratives. We are so proud to share our TIFO banner created with the MNWonderwall as part of the MN UFC Allianz Native American Heritage Night.  The MNWonderwall and MN United are embracing Native Heritage Night with their partners at Mille Lacs and this year we got to Zaasaakwe for these amazing folks dancing and singing on the field.  We want to always be pushing the boundaries. Our We are on Native Land TIFO from 2023 spurred conversations, raised funds, and won awards! Collaboration is at the "Heart"

Heart Berry was really born from the collaborative spirit. "The small regalia business I ran from my kitchen table grew into Heart Berry from the vision and collaboration of Eighth Generation." Giizh Heart Berry has been fortunate to collaborate with amazing artists like Holly Young and Nedahness Greene on some of our proudest art installations.    We collaborate with non profits such as the Minnesota United Wonderwall to raise large sums of money from our tiny business on the Rez.  Last year we raised and donated over $16,000 with our collaborative hearts and you.   We believe in the power of Creating Space.  We also believe this is our role and responsibility.  Auntie's Table brought together aspiring and accomplished makers...
